Grüezi!

Welcome to the Research Group of Metabolic Bariatric Surgery and Obesity Research. Our multidisciplinary research group is dedicated to advancing the understanding of obesity's etiology and pathophysiology by leveraging metabolic bariatric surgery (MBS) as a research model. We investigate how these surgical interventions influence human physiology to uncover mechanisms that suppress the obesity phenotype, ultimately informing basic science, inspiring novel treatments, and supporting drug development.

In addition to our innovative research activities, we are actively involved in clinical care, providing comprehensive support for individuals undergoing MBS. For more information about our clinical activities, visit Our Study Site.

Our work is driven by a collaborative spirit, uniting clinicians and researchers from diverse disciplines and global partnerships. Details about our ongoing projects and findings can be found in Our Research, while our extensive network of national and international collaborators is introduced in Our Collaborations.

We invite you to explore our website to learn more about our team, collaborations, and contributions to advancing metabolic bariatric surgery and obesity research for improved health and quality of life.
