Priv. Doz. Dr. Robert E. Steinert
Priv. Doz. Dr. Robert E. Steinert is a Principal Scientist in the Health, Nutrition & Care division of DSM-Firmenich, a leading science-driven company specializing in nutrition, health, and biosciences, with nearly 30,000 employees in almost 60 countries. He earned his PhD in gastrointestinal physiology from ETH Zurich and pursued postdoctoral research at the University of Adelaide, focusing on gastrointestinal physiology and nutrition. With over 15 years of experience in clinical research and R&D product development, Robert’s expertise lies in gut and metabolic health.
Since joining DSM-Firmenich in 2014, Robert has held various positions, including R&D Segment Lead for Gut Health and Global Science Lead for Biocare-Copenhagen. Alongside his role at DSM-Firmenich, he is a senior researcher in the group of Prof. Marco Bueter and a Privatdozent at the University of Zurich. Additionally, he serves as co-chair of the Scientific Committee of the International Probiotic Association (IPA) and has co-authored over 75 peer-reviewed publications and holds several patents.
