Dr. med. univ. Sophia Papamichalopoulos
Dr. med. univ. Sophia Papamichalopoulos is an attending surgeon in the Department of General and Visceral Surgery at Männedorf Hospital. She earned her medical degree from Paracelsus Medical University in Salzburg and completed a research traineeship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, during her training.
She is currently working on her medical doctoral thesis (Dr. med.) alongside her clinical practice. Her clinical interests focus on metabolic bariatric and hernia surgery. In addition to her clinical work, Sophia draws on her experience as a former athlete and Olympian to contribute to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Health, Medicine and Science Commission and the World Sailing Medical Commission.
